Teignbridge Canoe Club

Welcome to our Club! – We are now on the Summer Schedule! We are taking bookings for beginners/returning paddlers to join us from the beach at Teignmouth on Wednesday evenings through the Summer months.

You should book on the form here. This is so that we know you are coming and can arrange sufficient instructors. If you can get to the clubhouse for 6.15 that’s usually enough time to sort things out and get on the water as soon as possible. Some instructors can’t get to the club so early. You will need swimming gear and a change of clothing. We have some cagoules that you can borrow. We have all the equipment you will need like helmets and pfd’s (Life Jackets), spray decks and paddles. You should bring £7 for the hire of equipment and a kayak. We usually go to Dicey Reillys pub in Teignmouth after the kayaking for something to eat and a drink.

Before you join us for an evening you should/could print out and complete a membership form. This will save time on the evening (You don’t have to actually join but we need the details anyway).

We have introduced a very important rescue activity that everyone will be trained in and asked to demonstrate. We will expect you to go through the process of being rescued using the the Heel Hook technique. It’s surprisingly easy!
